Wanganui Opera Week was formed in 2003 to support and promote the New Zealand Opera School which is held each year here in Wanganui. We are a group of people who appreciate opera and enjoy seeing Wanganui host students, tutors, administrators and supporters from all over the country.

Wanganui Opera Week is proud of the fact that participants and audiences are unanimous in their positive comments. Tutors and students alike express their pleasure in the School and in the support for all the public events. Audiences grow year by year, and Barry Mora, one of the principal tutors, says that “it is now a special and eagerly anticipated event in the city calendar"
